For over 70 years, Shelby’s has helped homeowners solve pest problems with thoughtful prevention strategies built to last.

Pest activity changes with the seasons, but the conditions that attract pests around a home often stay the same year-round. Moisture, accessible food sources, shelter, and easy entry points can quickly lead to recurring problems if they are not addressed consistently.
Your initial service is included at no extra charge. Every plan includes scheduled treatments, priority scheduling, and a team that knows your property.
Free inspections are available for qualifying residential and commercial properties within Shelby’s standard service area. For properties in remote or outlying areas, a travel fee may apply. All fees are disclosed upfront before any service is scheduled. Rodent exclusion inspections are subject to separate terms based on property location. Contact us at (530) 343-0603 for details.

Many pest issues begin long before homeowners notice visible activity inside the home. Ant colonies expand underground for weeks before entering kitchens. Rodents often access attics before signs become obvious. Cockroach populations can establish themselves behind appliances long before becoming visible during the day. Preventative pest control helps reduce the likelihood of larger infestations while allowing early identification of seasonal pest pressure before problems grow more difficult to control.

Different pest problems require different treatment strategies. At Shelby’s Pest Control, every service begins with identifying what is causing pest activity in the first place.
Whether you are dealing with seasonal ant invasions, recurring cockroach activity, rodent entry points, or bed bug concerns, our goal is to create long-term pest management solutions designed around your property and the conditions attracting pests in the first place.
At Shelby’s Pest Control, we follow an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach that prioritizes prevention before pesticides whenever possible.
For rodent issues, our preferred strategy is:
Exclusion First – Identify and seal entry points to help keep rodents out.
Trapping Second – Use targeted trapping when appropriate.
Baiting Last – When necessary, utilize California-compliant rodent control products in tamper-resistant bait stations designed to help reduce access by children, pets, and non-target wildlife.
For insects and general household pests, our technicians select products approved for use in California and apply them according to strict label requirements and industry best practices.
Our goal is always to use the most effective solution while minimizing unnecessary pesticide exposure around your home and family.

No pesticide is 100% risk-free, and we won’t tell you otherwise. What we will tell you is how we keep exposure low: sealing entry points before reaching for chemicals, targeted placements instead of spraying whole rooms or yards, and following the label exactly. When something needs to dry or a bait station is in use, we’ll tell you what to keep kids and pets away from and for how long.
Rarely, and never as the first move. We seal entry points first. If rodents are already inside and trapping isn’t enough on its own, we’ll use a California-compliant product, but only in locked, tamper-resistant stations placed where kids, pets, and wildlife can’t get to them.
Whatever we use is registered and approved for residential use in California. Email info@shelbyspestcontrolpro.com and we’ll tell you exactly what’s being applied, where, and anything worth knowing for your household.
Your technician tells you before they leave, every time. Surfaces need to be fully dry first. We’re not going to make you guess.
Yes. We’ll adjust which areas get treated and when, and walk you through what to expect.
Because it doesn’t actually work better. Spraying everywhere treats the symptom, not the reason pests got in. Sealing entry points and treating only where it’s needed lasts longer and uses less product.
Ask your technician on the spot, or email info@shelbyspestcontrolpro.com anytime.
